If you are interested in getting involved in our presentation of The Fox on the Fairway at Theatre West, stop by auditions and introduce yourself to Rich or leave a message on our office phone at 541 994-5663. A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox On the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. Theatre West is a non-profit, all volunteer community theatre whose roots in the community go back to 1975. Membership dues are minimal at $10.00 per year for an individual $12.50 for a couple, $15.00 for a family and $5.00 for a student. Everyone in the community is invited to join and support our Lincoln City community theatre. More information about the theatre may be found at www.theatrewest.com or call (541) 994-5663. ----

The story: Huge oil reserves have been discovered in The Chagos Islands. O.P.E.C. is pressuring the Chagosians to join the cartel. A C.I.A. agent and an under Secretary of State, whose life appears to be run by her libido, are sent to a C.I.A. safe house in the mountains of Virginia to begin negotiations for the U.S. to place the Chagos Islands under their protection. Unfortunately, no one knows who the islands' representative really is. We are left to wonder how the C.I.A. agent ever got the job. He gets caught in all his own booby traps, he electrocutes himself, he sets fire to himself, he gets a bucket stuck on his head, and finally locks himself in his own handcuffs! Add to the inevitable chaos, a stranded televangelist, his innocent secretary (or is she?), an ex-marine caretaker, who isn't what he seems to be, and a mysterious, glamorous neighbor, and you have a complex, laugh out loud farce. Appearing on the Jack Coyne stage are Bryan Kirsch as Daniel, Debbie Hendrickson as Heather, Rashelle Fender as Ranger Don, Karen Davis as Millicent, Rich Emery as Reverend Samuel, Shelby Barton as Luke and Tami Keller as Margaret. Bryan Kirsch is the director. He has directed and appeared in many productions at Theatre West. Most recently he appeared in The Pearl, by Barbara Pease Weber and directed The Whales of August by David Berry. Danny Roberson is the assistant director, Max Johnson is lights and sound technician and Rashelle Fender is stage manager. Theatre West is located at 3536 SE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City. Tickets for the show are $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors (62 and up) and for students (over 12) and $8.00 for children 12 & under. A special group discount is available at $9.00 per ticket for groups of 10 or more with a pre-paid reservation. Theatre West is a non-profit, all volunteer community dating back to 1975.
